WINTER PARK, FLA. (February 9, 2020) – Rollins closed its inaugural Round Robin with a pair of wins Sunday to remain undefeated on the season.
The Tars moved to 8-0 on the year, shutting out Bentley 6-0 and defeating Queens 2-1.

Pitcher Ashley Worrell pitched all seven innings in the circle, allowing only three hits and no runs while striking out four.
Ashley Troutman went 2-4 at the plate and scored twice. Chelsea Peace had a great day, bating 2-2 on a home run. Tyler Jo Colby went 1-3 at the plate and one RBI.
Peace scored Troutman on a sac bunt in the first and knocked in Troutman in the third to put the Tars up 2-0. She then blew the game wide open with a two-run homer in the fifth that got Rollins a 4-0 lead.
Another run came in the sixth as Colby brought in Talia Kentoffio.
The Tars scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game. Taylor Waters with a sacrifice fly to left field and Cynthia Whitty scored their last run of the game.
Bentley did not score but had three hits in the game. Elise Pereira took the loss, allowing two runs on three hit in four innings.

Rollins finished the final day of the Rollins Round Robin, beating Queens 2-1 in a comeback thriller.
Ashley Worrell went 1-4 at the plate, one double and one RBI. Ashley Troutman hit 1-4 at the and scored a run while teammate Cynthia Whitty went 1-3.
The pitching and defense is what was key in the game for both teams.
Pitcher Ali Shenefied won her fourth game of the season, allowing two hits and one run. She threw seven innings with allowing one run and 10 strikeouts. She has racked up 37 strikeouts through 27 innings this season.
Rollins surrendered a run in the third to trail for just the second time this season.
Tars had to come up with one last rally to win the game and that is what they did. Whitty led off the seventh with a single and was moved over to second on a Waters Sac bunt. Then with two outs, Troutman reached on an error to score Whitty. Worrell then doubled and that allowed Troutman to score the winning run.
The Tars are back on their home field Friday and Saturday February 14-15 against Nova Southeastern.
