Rollins Grinds Out Victory Over Barry

WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 15, 2020) – Senior Jaylyn Harrison and freshman Paris Sharpe enjoyed huge games as Rollins picked up a big 64-53 win over Barry Saturday.

Harrison notched 17 points and seven rebounds while Sharpe matched career-highs with 17 points and 11 rebounds to go along with a career-best five blocks.

The win moved Rollins to 13-11 overall and 6-10 in the Sunshine State Conference while Barry falls to 7-16, 5-12 SSC.

Harrison was an efficient 7-for-9 form the field with three 3-pointers while Sharpe hit 8-of-9 from the floor, all from the paint. As a team, Rollins shot 53 percent and held the Bucs to just 35 percent from the field. The Tars were their usual selves on the glass, outrebounding Barry 35-23.

The Tars started the game strong and opened up a 20-11 lead after the first quarter.

The lead grew to as many as 12 early in the second only to see Barry come back and pull to within 27-25 with 2:26 left in the half. Harrison got things moving back Rollins way with a three-pointer and the Tars ended the period on a 7-0 run to lead 34-25 at intermission.

In the third, the Tars led by as many as 12 with 2:59 on the clock and headed into the fourth up 53-42.

Barry was able to cut the Rollins lead to 58-51 with 4:37 to play, but that would be the last field goal the Tars would allow the rest of the way. Sharpe hit a turnaround in the paint as Rollins finished on a 6-2 run to close out the Bucs.

Rollins will look to keep the positive momentum rolling into the next home game, Wednesday, February 19 against Lynn. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m. at Warden Arena. Fans can catch the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com and locally on 91.5 FM WPRK.
