Rollins Turned Back in OT at Southeastern

LAKELAND, Fla. (September 20, 2019) – Rollins led by a goal with eight minutes to play, but surrendered the equalizer late and the game winner in overtime as the Tars fell at Southeastern 2-1 on Friday night.

Dominic Adomakoh scored his first goal of the season, heading in a Michael Landau corner kick in the 82nd minute. Leading 1-0, SEU got even less than two minutes later with Banabas Ganidekam finding the back of the net.

The Tars had a corner kick in the final seconds, but were unable to convert and the match headed to extra time. Landau got a shot off on target for the Tars early in the OT that went right into Southeastern keeper Logan Whitney's hands.

Eight minutes into the extra frame, Jake Van Der Luit ended the match with a goal after a Chase Hovious cross deep in the box.

Abdiel Martinez played all 100 minutes for the Tars, racking up four saves with two goals allowed. Whitney grabbed the win for SEU, saving seven shots and allowing one Tars goal.

Rollins outshot the Fire 18-13 and had nearly triple the corner opportunities (14-5).

The Tars next jump into Sunshine State Conference play, hosting Florida Southern on Wednesday, September 25 at 7 p.m. Fans can catch the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
