Tars' Bats Fall Flat at Nova Southeastern

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (April 18, 2019) – Rollins could not take advantage of their opportunities, leaving six runners on base, as they fell 1-0 to Nova Southeastern.  The Tars fall to 34-10 overall, and 16-9 in Sunshine State Conference play.  The Sharks improve to 26-9, and 17-8 with the series opening win.

Lindsay Gehring tallied both Rollins hits on the day, while Talia Kentoffio stole a base for the Tars.  Ashley Worrell threw a complete game, picking up the loss.  The freshman surrendered just one run on two hits, while striking out eight.

Alex Suzuki tallied the game's only RBI, plating Suka Van Gurp, who went 1-3 on the day.  Miriam Schmoll threw a complete game for the Sharks, giving up just two hits.

The Tars left two runners on base in both the second and the fourth.  The Sharks would then capitalize in the bottom of the fourth with a two out rally, using a triple and a single to take a 1-0 lead.

Rollins could not push an equalizing run across the plate in either of their final two at bats, falling to get a run for just the fourth time this season.
