Tars Fall to Barry on the Road

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (October 30, 2019) – The Tars could not pick up a conference victory, falling to Barry 1-0 in overtime in their final road contest of the regular season.  With the defeat Rollins falls to 4-7-2 overall, and 3-4-2 in Sunshine State Conference play.  The Bucs improve to 5-10-0, and 2-6-0 against SSC opposition.

Georgios Koliniatis fired off three shots, putting them all on target to lead the Rollins offensive threat.  The Tars backline of Logan Laskey, Anton Bylin, Daniel Field, and Magnus Hoevde played the full 97 minutes.

Andreas Volk tallied the matches only goal in overtime.  He was assisted by Francisco Greco.

Maximillian Obermeier made eight saves, keeping the Tars in the game all night, while facing 17 Barry shots.  Mirko Ronchi made five saves in a shutout performance for Barry.

The Bucs outshot Rollins 15-5 in regulation, and earned nine corners, against four for the Tars, in the opening 90 minutes.  However, five first half saves, and four second half rejections by Obermeier kept the score locked at 0-0, as the two teams headed to overtime.

In the first extra period the Bucs won a corner and Volk timed his jump perfectly, heading the ball into the top corner of the net, earning Barry the win.
