Tars Can't Handle No. 5 West Florida

No. 5 West Florida – 9 

ORLANDO, Fla. (February 23, 2018) – Rollins battled the No. 5 Argos all evening, but could not pull out a win, dropping the match, which was played at the USTA National Campus, 9-0.  Rollins falls to 4-3 on the year, while West Florida improves to 5-0. 

Carlye Goldman and Savanna Fuller jumped out to an early lead in their doubles match, but were unable to hold on down the stretch.  In the first position, the Argos No. 12 ranked team of Coyos and Lujan defeated the Tars' pair of Fabiana Vitanza and Alexandra Borg. 

The Argos, who boast three of the ITA's top-50 singles players in their lineup, finished the sweep in singles action.  Marie Debruyn fought in the sixth position but fell 6-4, 6-3. 

Rollins will return to the USTA National Campus to take on Division I for Mount St. Mary's next Wednesday, February 28, with the match scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
