WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 5, 2017) - The Tars
struggled to find their footing against a very talented Lynn
squad. Rollins was unable to win a match, falling 9-0 to the No. 3
Fighting Knights. Rollins falls to 4-5 on the year and 2-3 in
Sunshine State Conference play. Lynn improves to 8-0 on the season
and 2-0 in SSC action.
Lynn swept the doubles matches to open the day. Carlye
Goldman and Fabiana
Vitanza fought hard, but fell 8-4 out of the first
position.
It was Golman who put up the most resistance in singles play as
well. The sophomore forced a second set tie break against No. 39
Stephanie Stemmer, eventually succumbing 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Vitanza
fell 6-2, 6-2 to No. 23 Grace Mpassy out of the first position.
The Tars return home to take on Embry-Riddle on Wednesday, March
8. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
