WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 21, 2017) - The Tars
triumphed in their first at the Martin Tennis Complex since their
California road trip. Rollins bested the No. 4 team in the
Atlantic region, West Virginia State, 7-2. With the win Rollins
moves to 7-8 on the year, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 10-5 on
the year.
Rollins swept the doubles competitions to take a 3-0 lead. All
three Rollins pairs cruised to 8-2 victories.
The Tars took four of the six singles matches to clinch the team
victory. Carlye
Goldman won out of the third position, taking her match over
Nina Dillwald 6-4, 6-3. Savanna
Fuller shutout Lindsay Goff 6-0, 6-0 in a dominating
performance in the fifth spot. Alexandra
Borg and Teresa
Kaiser both cruised to straight set, 6-1, 6-1, victories out of
the fourth and sixth positions respectively.
The Tars will take to the court again tomorrow, closing out
their non-conference schedule, against Division I Murray State.
