WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 10, 2017) - The
Rollins men moved back to .500 with a victory over the Wayne State
Warriors. Rollins moves to 4-4 after the 7-2 win. Wayne State
falls to 2-5 on 2017 season.
The Tars won two of the three doubles matches. Ahmed
Albitar and Daniel
Ferl won out of the first position 8-6. Senior Patrick
Sell and sophomore Francesco
Racanelli teamed up for the first time on the year to win 8-5
out of the number two spot.
Rollins controlled most of the singles matches as well, finding
themselves victorious in five of the six. Racanelli and Clement
Charriere battled with Racanelli edging out a victory 7-6, 7-5. Ziad
Melhaoui also registered a straight set victory out of the
fourth spot, winning 6-1, 7-5. Sami
Kirberg and Ferl both dropped their first sets but recovered to
record three set wins. Cody
Gubin also captured a three set win, defeating Luke Ruocco in
the sixth spot, 6-0, 3-6, 6-4.
The Tars continue their 12 game home stand tomorrow, Saturday,
March 11, when they face off against the Knights of Queens
College. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
