KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Sept. 20, 2016)
- After easily dispelling Southeastern in their home opener
last weekend, the Tars return to the NSCAA National Poll, checking
in at No. 22 in the rankings, it was announced Tuesday.
Rollins dropped their first game of the year, but the Tars
recovered and are currently riding a four game winning streak.
Rollins has used a balanced attack to achieve their 4-1-0 start
with nine players tallying at least a point, and three players with
over five points through five games. Ben
Grant leads Rollins with seven points, coming on two goals and
three assists.
There was not much movement at the top of the rankings this
week, as The University of Charleston continues to hold onto the
No. 1 spot with a 6-0-0 record. Lynn University sits at the No. 2
spot, while Rockhurst University holds on to the No. 3 again this
week. Southern New Hampshire University and St. Edward's University
complete this week's top five.
Sunshine State Conference teams are littered throughout the
list, lead by Lynn at the No. 2 spot. Barry climbed two spots,
from No. 13 to No. 11 on the latest list. Tampa settled at the No.
15 spot, with Rollins rounding out the conference contingency at
No. 22. Florida Tech received votes.
Rollins hosts No. 15 Tampa in their next match, which is
scheduled for Wednesday, September 21 at 7 p.m. On Saturday,
September 24 the Tars will travel to Melbourne to take on Florida
Tech, kick off is set for 7 p.m.
