HUNSTVILLE, Ala. (September 11, 2016) - The Tars jumped out to an early lead and locked it down late to secure a 2-0 win over Alabama-Huntsville. The victory was Rollins' third straight. The Tars' record now stands at 3-1 on the year, while the Chargers fall to 0-4 to open their 2016 campaign.

Matt Volk got the Tars on the board early, scoring on a Ray Gerke assist, at the three minute mark. Ben Grant tallied Rollins' second goal on a header just before the 23rd minute. Andre Nansen earned an assist on the headed effort. Drew Trautmann locked down the defense for Rollins, making three saves in the shutout.

Alabama-Huntsville struggled to get the offense going throughout the game. Hermann Bjornsson took three shots on the afternoon, while a trio of Chargers put a shot on target. Myles Fullen played all 90 minutes in net for the Chargers, making five stops

Notes

· Rollins led the shot count 12-1 in the first half, eventually winning the battle 16-7.

· The game got physical with eight yellow cards being handed out, three for Rollins and five for Alabama-Huntsville

· Gerke's assist on the first goal was his first point in a Rollins uniform.
