WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 1, 2016) - Going, going, gone. Senior Jule Kranz homers three times in a doubleheader sweep of Nova Southeastern. The Tars defeated the Sharks in game one, 7-4, before shutting out NSU in game two by a score of 7-0.

Rollins improves to 26-6-1 (9-2 SSC) while Nova Southeastern drops to 11-27 (1-16 SSC) on the season.

The Tars jumped out early in game one after Tiffany Osmanski homered to right center scoring Hailee Keisling, who had a lead off walk. Chelsea Reed then scored off a Courtney Durbin sacrifice fly to right field. Next batter, Brianne Lint collected her first of two RBIs on the day as the sophomore singled to third base scoring Brittany Johnson to extend the Tars lead to 4-0.

Rollins added two more runs in the second as small ball helped Kranz score off a Reed single. Reed scored later in the inning off a Lint sacrifice fly to center field. Niki Fogle helped her cause on the mound with a leadoff homerun in the bottom of the fifth to make it 7-0.

The Tars held off a late four-run rally in the top of the seventh to secure the 7-4 victory. Fogle collected the win going five innings allowing one hit, no runs, no walks and striking out four.

Game two saw the Tars get out to another early lead thanks to Kranz's first homerun of the game giving Rollins the 1-0 lead.

Sid Masso started the scoring in the second with a double to right field scoring Hannah Horwath and Durbin. Kranz then sent her second homerun of the day over the left field line fence to add on two more runs and extend the Rollins lead to 5-1.

The senior shortstop was not done yet, as she once again homer on her third at-bat. This is only the second time in Rollins softball history that a player has homered three times in one game. The last player to do that was Jessica Gipson back on April 13, 2013 versus Florida Tech. Kranz, who is the national sacrifice-hits leader, went 4-4 with 5 RBIs.

Reed made sure the Tars shut out the Sharks as the junior scaled the fence in deep center field to rob Haley Gonzalez of a homerun in the next inning. Fogle sealed another win on the mound as the senior improves to 16-5 on the year.

The Tars will be back in action on Saturday as they look to sweep the three game weekend series with Nova Southeastern. First pitch is set for 10:00 a.m. at MLK Park.
