days off, the Tars traveled to No. 2 Saint Leo on Thursday,
eventually falling to the Lions, 7-2.
No. 30 Rollins found themselves in a 3-0 hole after doubles and
couldn't recover. The Tars suffered 8-5 loses in both the No. 2 and
No. 3 matches and the 11th ranked duo of Adrian Di
Felice and Anton
Bettink fell to No. 2-ranked A. Barroso-Campos and Alex
Theiler, 8-1, in the No. 1 match.
In singles, Ziad
Melhaoui won his second match in a row, defeating Francisco
Aparicio in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 4 match.
In the No. 2 hole, Casey
Austgen secured an upset win, highlighting the afternoon for
the Tars when he beat Theiler, 2-6, 7-6 (4), 10-8. Theiler is the
No. 17 ranked singles player in Division II Austgen is now 1-1 in
No. 2 singles and 5-5 in his last ten singles matches overall.
Rollins will return to the court on Wednesday, April
6th when they travel to Florida Southern. The match is
set to begin at 3 p.m.
