WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 2, 2016) - The
27th-ranked Tars secured their second 9-0 win in as many
days, defeating Seton Hill on Wednesday Morning.
With the win, Rollins pulls to an even 2-2 on the year while
Seton Hill falls to 4-5.
The Tars cruised to a commanding lead after the double portion
of the match, with the duo of Emma
Wookey and Fabiana
Vitanza downing Alisha Torretti and Mary Baich, 8-0 in the No.
3 match to open the day. The Rollins team of Johanna
Olsson and Teresa
Kaiser then knocked off Paula Carvajalino and Madison DeBone in
the No. 2 hole, 8-3, before Shannon
Etten and Carli
Davis made it 3-0 in favor of the Tars after an 8-5 win in the
No. 1 match.
In singles, Rollins didn't drop a single set for the second
match in a row. Vitanza beat Mary Baich in the No. 6 match, 6-1,
6-0, to make it 4-0 before Savanna
Fuller defeated Torretti, 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5 hole to secure
the match for the Tars.
Etten, Davis, Kaiser and Olsson also coasting to straight set
wins after the match had been decided.
Rollins will be back in action on Tuesday, March 8th,
hosting Stonehill at 4 p.m. at the Tiedtke Tennis Complex on the
