MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (January 2, 2016) - After a two and half week break for the holidays, Rollins opened the New Year at Barry but eventually fell to the Buccaneers, 82-52.

With the loss, the Tars fall to 5-6, 1-3 in conference play, while Barry improves to 9-3 and 3-1 in the SSC.

Jasmine Stone led Rollins with 13 points while senior Cassidy Bailey chipped in 11. Nikki Corsini scored a career high eight points, doubling her previous high, and Marie Gilbert finished with six rebounds.

Amra Elezovic led Barry with a game high 21 points on 7-10 shooting while Ines Kerin finished with 18, hitting 4-6 from beyond the arc.

The Tars would open the scoring after a Jones steal led to a fast break layup for Stone in the first minute.

Barry would answer with a 5-0 run, forcing a Rollins timeout at the 6:49 mark of the first.

Corsini would come back with a pair of buckets, tying her career high for points in just the first quarter, to regain the lead but the Buccaneers would ultimately close the period with a 14-9 spurt to take a 19-11 lead after one.

Stone matched Corsini with four points in the first while Gilbert grabbed four rebounds.

The Tars would pull within two early in the second, opening the quarter with a 9-2 run, including a pair of Stone triples, pushing it to 22-20 with just under eight minutes on the clock.

Barry would again answer with a big run of their own, pushing their lead to double digits midway through the quarter, leading by as much as 13 at the 4:26 mark.

The Bucs would hold their double digit lead until another Stone three with less than 10 seconds remaining pulled the Tars back within seven, 35-28, at the half.

Stone led all scorers in the first half with 13 points on 5-8 shooting while Corsini scored eight in eight minutes off the bench. Elezovic led Barry with 12 points.

Barry would explode out of the break, pushing their lead to 21, 54-33, midway through the third. Kerin accounted for 11 of the Bucs' 19 points during the run.

The Tars would pull back within 13 late at the 1:32 mark before a Brittany Betts free throw in the final seconds of the period made it an 12 point game heading to the fourth, 56-44.

The Bucs would open the fourth with a 10-2 to all but put the game away.
