After finishing second in the Sunshine State Conference
standings and posting a 21-5 regular season record,
25th-ranked Rollins next sets it sights on the 2015
Sunshine State Conference Tournament. The Tars have won the SSC
postseason eight times, most recently back-to-back in 2012 and
2013. Led by a trio of All-Conference seniors, the Tars are one of
the favorites to win it all this year and grab the SSC's automatic
bid in to the NCAA Tournament. The Tars quarterfinal opponent Barry
is 13-15 on the season and comes in as a dangerous No. 7 seed. Fans

ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: The Tars won two in a row
to close the regular season, beating Florida Tech and Florida
Southern in the final week of the season. The FSC game turned into
a shootout with Rollins posting an 82-75 victory. The Tars point
total matched a season high. Five players scored in double figures,
led by 18 points from Emmalee
Schill. Julia
Ingler hit four 3-pointers and two free throws for 14 points
while also grabbing seven rebounds. Jasmine
Stone set a new career-high with 11 points while Ashley
Losch and Sarah
Taylor each scored 10. Rollins needed a 50-point second half to
run away from its archrival.
The Tars top-three scorers were each named Second Team
All-Sunshine State Conference. Schill is scoring 12 points a night
and also hauling in 6.5 rebounds a game. Losch is getting 10.8
points and a team-best 7.2 rebounds an outing. Schill needs 59 more
points to reach 1,000 for her career while Losch is looking at just
44 to join the club. Taylor, already a member of the Tars
1,000-point club is averaging 10.4 points, six rebounds and 1.6
steals a night. Inlger took a spot on the SSC All-Newcomer team and
is getting 8.4 points a game, behind a 48-125 season beyond the
arc.
Glenn Wilkes
Jr. (Stetson '81) is in his 29th year leading the Tars and owns
a career record of 649-211. He is the eighth-winningest active
coach in Division II and has the fourth most victories. All-time in
Division II, Wilkes ranks as the 13th winningest and ninth in total
victories.
BARRY AT A GLANCE: The Bucs finished seventh in
the conference standings and split games their last four of the
regular season. In its last outing, Barry fell to Tampa on the
road, 70-50. Amra Elezovic led the way with 12 points while Jackie
Perez netted nine. Nyjah Porcher added eight points and 10
rebounds. The Bucs committed just eight turnovers, but only shot
18-of-62 from the field.
Kaylia Richardson leads the season box score with 11.6 points
and 6.9 rebounds a game. Jackie Perez is averaging 10.8 points, 3.9
rebounds and 3.5 assists while playing nearly the entire game.
Nyjah Porcher is the top rebounder with seven an outing to go along
with 8.9 points a game.
Bill Sullivan (Georgetown College '73) is in his ninth season at
the helm of the Bucs women's basketball program and carries a
158-122 career record.
THE SERIES: Rollins leads the all-time series
over Barry 45-17 with a sweep in the regular season this year. The
Tars took the first meeting 65-46 in Winter Park (1/7/15), holding
the Bucs to just 19 first half points. In Miami Shores, Rollins
posted a 56-45 win on Feb. 11. Emmalee
Schill averaged 12.5 points and seven rebounds in the two games
to lead the Tars. Sarah

Losch each averaged 11 points and 4.6 rebounds.
ROLLINS IN THE SSC TOURNAMENT: Rollins is 47-26
all-time in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament, winning eight
times. As the No. 2 seed the Tars are 12-6 and won the SSC
Championship from that spot in 2012. In quarterfinal play, Rollins
is 21-2. Rollins is 4-2 against Barry in the bracket, last meeting
in the 2010 semifinals where the third-seed Bucs upset the
second-seed Tars 62-60.
NEXT UP: The winner of Rollins and Barry will
next meet the winner of third-seed Eckerd and sixth-seed Florida
Southern in the second semifinal on Saturday, March 7 at 2 p.m. The
championship game, carried live on ESPN3 is slated for Sunday,
March 8 at 1 p.m.
