FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (March 28, 2015) - The No.
38 Rollins women's tennis team fell 6-3 to the No. 4 Nova
Southeastern Sharks Saturday afternoon.
Rollins (5-9, 1-1 SSC) had won three of their last four matches
before the Tars ran into the SSC-leading Nova Southeastern Sharks
(16-0).
The Tars trailed 3-0 after doubles, as No. 1 doubles Shannon
Etten/Carli
Davis fell 8-4. At No. 2 doubles Johanna
Olsson and Zoe
Monge fell 8-6 while Taylor
Brown/Emma
Wookey at three doubles lost 8-0.
At one singles, sophomore No. 32-ranked Shannon
Etten defeated No. 13 Sabrina Kierberg by a 0-3, retirement.
Etten is 7-3 and has won her last five matches.
Freshman Fabiana
Vitanza defeated Alexandra Johansson in straight sets 6-4, 6-1
at four singles. Vitanza is 7-5 this season.
Katie
Wookey helped the Tars earn a third individual match win at six
singles as Wookey defeated Bianca Roberts in three sets, 2-6, 6-3,
12-10. Wookey is 4-2 this season in singles.
