MELBOURNE, Fla. (March 20, 2015) - The Tars
scored four runs and had six hits in the final two innings but fell
short 11-5 to No. 15 Florida Tech from Melbourne Friday
evening.
The Tars drop to 14-13 and 2-5 in conference play while Florida
Tech is now 22-3 and 5-3 in the SSC.
Christian
Coburn continued his 9-game hitting streak, going 2-for-4 with
two runs scored and four stolen bases. Coburn leads all of Division
II with 24 stolen bases this year. Zach
Persky went 2-for-5 with a run batted in and a stolen base
while Peter
Nicoletto and Alex
Miller also went 2-for-4.
Junior starter Matt Tulley went 5.0 innings allowing two runs on
five hits as he picked up the loss. Spencer

Breen all chipped in with a hit to give the Tars 12 on the
night.
In the top of the third inning, Rollins took a 1-0 lead after
Persky singled up the middle scoring Coburn.
After a rain delay stopped play in the bottom of the sixth,
Rollins gave up six runs in the bottom of the seventh and trailed
8-1.
In the top of the eighth inning, Rollins answered with three
runs on four hits as Coburn reached on an error by the third
baseman. Blake

Nicoletto and Alex
Miller all came through with base hits, which cut the Florida
Tech lead to 8-4.
The Panthers answered in the bottom of the inning with three
runs and led Rollins 11-4.
Grant
Ashline led off the ninth for Rollins and singled to right
field. After a Coburn walk, Garmendia singled to center field
scoring Ashline as Rollins left two men on base and fell by a 11-5
final score.
Rollins faces Florida Tech in a double-header Saturday, March 21
beginning at 3 p.m.
