WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 22, 2014) - The Rollins College softball team bested conference-rival Barry 7-2 Saturday evening at MLK Park. Left fielder Courtney Durbin broke open the contest in the second inning with a bases-clearing triple.

The Tars improve their record to 22-8 (7-3 SSC), while Barry drops to 18-9 (3-4 SSC).

Sophomore Jule Kranz started the two-out rally in the second inning with a single back through the middle. Hilary Brown walked and Jessica Gipson reached on a single to the shortstop to load the bases. Hailee Keisling got the scoring started by driving in Kranz on a single. Durbin increased the Rollins lead to 4-0 by clearing the bases with her third triple of the season.

Barry would go on to score two in the fourth but Rollins answered with one in the fifth and two in the sixth to secure the victory.

Niki Fogle tossed seven innings, allowing two runs, both unearned, on five hits. She walked three and struck out two in the contest.

The Tars will continue the series tomorrow, Sunday, in doubleheader action starting at 1 p.m.
