No. 9 Rollins Keeps Rolling, Knocks off No. 7 UWF

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 15, 2014) -

The ninth-ranked Tars picked up their seventh win in a row on Saturday, defeating No. 7 West Florida, 5-4.

Rollins is now 9-2 while the Argos falls to 9-4.

The Tars took a 2-1 lead after doubles, including an intense, closely played match in the No. 3 spot where the Rollins pair of Carli Davis and Mariana Salavador needed a tiebreaker to beat Nina Bubelova and Fernanda Amaral, 9-8 (9-7).

In singles, Rollins did just enough, splitting the six matches, taking the 1-3 matches. Elissa DeCampli picked up her biggest win of the year in the No. 1 match, coming back from a set down to beat 20th ranked Monika Kochanova 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Classmate Ashley Rosenberg then defeated Laure-Eline Faure 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) for her sixth singles win in a row while freshman Shannon Etten beat Kat Dikosavljevic 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 3 match to clinch the match.

The Tars will take a night off and turn right around to host New York Institute of Technology at 11 a.m.
