WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 28, 2014) - Rollins held Tuskegee scoreless for a seven minute span in the first half and led by 20 at intermission as the 14th-ranked Tars beat the Golden Tigers 76-45 Friday in the opening game of the Rollins Thanksgiving Tournament.

Ashley Losch led 13 Tars who cracked the scoring column with 15 points, going 3-for-3 beyond the arc and hitting both free throw attempts. The senior also hauled in six rebounds and tallied three blocks.

Cassidy Bailey added nine points while Emmalee Schill and Jen Farrell each netted eight.

Rollins (5-0) will now meet fourth-ranked Lewis in the championship game on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. The Flyers posted a big comeback over St. Edward's in the other game Friday, winning 75-73.

Tuskegee (0-4) scored first and held a 7-4 lead after a Kaylen Ward 3-pointer six minutes in. A driving Bailey layup on the Tars next possession jump started the offense as Rollins went on to outscore its visitors 26-2 over the next 10 minutes. Demetries McNealey hit a 3-pointer to break the seven-minute scoreless streak, but Farrell quickly erased any threat of a comeback with a four-point play on Rollins next trip down the court.

Rollins held a 36-16 lead at the break.

In the second, Tuskegee scored four quick points before the Tars locked down on defense and built a 62-23 advantage with 10:11 to play. Rollins would lead by as many as 42 late in the game.

Jacqueline Martin was the lone Golden Tiger in double-figures with 12 points off the bench. Chelsea Azore added six.

Rollins shot 34 percent (21-61) from the field and held Tuskegee to 28 percent (16-58). The Tars dominated the glass with a 53-35 rebounding edge and forced 20 turnovers while committing just 10.

Tuskegee and St. Edward's will start day two of the Rollins Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. The Tars and Flyers are to follow at 3 p.m. in the championship game. Rollins is the defending champion of the event, beating New Haven 55-50 in overtime a year ago. Fans can watch all the action live on the Geico Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
