SAINT LEO, Fla. (November 15, 2014) - Five
players scored in double figures and 23rd-ranked Rollins
finished a sweep of the Saint Leo Classic on Saturday, beating
Armstrong State 71-67.

Losch led the way for Rollins (2-0) with 14 points, four
rebounds and two assists. Emmalee
Schill posted a second double-double in as many games with 13
points and 12 rebounds. Cassidy

Gilbert each netted 10.
Shermika Harris put up a game-high 20 for Armstrong (0-2) while
Dee Hayward added 13.
Rollins jumped out in front 19-10 after the first seven minutes
and pushed the advantage to 27-14 with eight minutes to play in the
half. The Pirates would get no closer than eight the rest of the
frame with the Tars taking a 37-29 lead into intermission.
That spread held into the first few minutes of the second until
an 8-0 Armstrong run closed the gap to 53-49 with 10:55 to
play.
Rollins was then able to rebuild the lead back to eight after a
Schill put back with 4:53 to play. Armstrong closed to within 66-63
at the two- minute mark, but a clutch 3-pointer by Bailey quickly
got it back to a six point game.
Harris then scored the next four points of the game and cut the
Tars advantage to 69-67 with under two minutes left. Rollins
defense then held Armstrong scoreless the rest of the way to
preserve a second-straight win to begin the season.
The Tars shot 36 percent from the field, including a 7-of-24
mark from the 3-point line. The Pirates were held to 20-58 (34
percent) and 3-of-14 from long range. Rollins outrebounded
Armstrong 54-44.
Rollins opens up its home schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 19 hosting
