SAINT LEO, Fla. (November 15, 2014) - Five players scored in double figures and 23rd-ranked Rollins finished a sweep of the Saint Leo Classic on Saturday, beating Armstrong State 71-67.

Senior Ashley Losch led the way for Rollins (2-0) with 14 points, four rebounds and two assists. Emmalee Schill posted a second double-double in as many games with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Cassidy Bailey, Jen Farrell and Marie Gilbert each netted 10.

Shermika Harris put up a game-high 20 for Armstrong (0-2) while Dee Hayward added 13.

Rollins jumped out in front 19-10 after the first seven minutes and pushed the advantage to 27-14 with eight minutes to play in the half. The Pirates would get no closer than eight the rest of the frame with the Tars taking a 37-29 lead into intermission.

That spread held into the first few minutes of the second until an 8-0 Armstrong run closed the gap to 53-49 with 10:55 to play.

Rollins was then able to rebuild the lead back to eight after a Schill put back with 4:53 to play. Armstrong closed to within 66-63 at the two- minute mark, but a clutch 3-pointer by Bailey quickly got it back to a six point game.

Harris then scored the next four points of the game and cut the Tars advantage to 69-67 with under two minutes left. Rollins defense then held Armstrong scoreless the rest of the way to preserve a second-straight win to begin the season.

The Tars shot 36 percent from the field, including a 7-of-24 mark from the 3-point line. The Pirates were held to 20-58 (34 percent) and 3-of-14 from long range. Rollins outrebounded Armstrong 54-44.

Rollins opens up its home schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 19 hosting Warner at 7 p.m. Fans can follow all the action live on the Geico Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com and locally on 91.5 FM WPRK.
