ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: Last time out, The
11th-ranked Tars came from behind on Saturday afternoon
to defeat conference rival, No. 25 Tampa, 3-1, on the road. Mora
Johnson led the way offensively for Rollins, scoring a pair of
goals, while Paxton
Sickler converted a PK midway through the second half. Nicole
Fischer chipped in with her fourth assist of the year. In goal,
Mary
Spring played the full 90 minutes for the Tars, recording five
saves.
With the win, Rollins closed out their SSC schedule at 7-1,
sitting atop the conference standings for the time being. The Tars
would claim their fourth SSC regular season title if Barry were to
lose or draw one of their final conference game at Eckerd.
The Tars enter Tuesday leading the nation in assists per game,
points per game, total asissts and total points and are second in
scoring offense, averaging 3.53 goals per match.
Johnson, the reigning SSC Offensive Player of the Week, leads
Rollins with 12 goals while Sickler and McKee both have nine.
Coach Alicia
Schuck is in her fourth year at the helm of the women's soccer
program, holding a record of 52-14-4. Since taking over in 2011,
she has led the Tars to a berth in the NCAA tournament three
straight seasons and has been named both the NSCAA South Region
Coach of the Year and SSC Coach of the Year.
PALM BEACH ATLANTIC AT A GLANCE: Last time out,
the Sailfish played an inspired brand of soccer in the second-half
on Saturday evening as they erased a 1-0 halftime deficit to
Florida Tech at Rick Stottler Field. The Panthers turned the
momentum one final time late in the second-half, however, as they
cashed in on a goal from Elin Svensson to edge the 'Fish by a 2-1
final score. Kasey Wyer scored the lone goal for PBA.
Entering Tuesday, the Sailfish are averaging 1.36 goals per game
but are allowing 2.16.
Wyer leads the team with four goals and is second on the team
with three assists. Monica Rojas has two goals and leads the team
in assists with four. Audrey Deck and Morgan Campbell are tied for
second on the team with three goals each.
Chris Gnehm was named the fifth head coach in the history of the
Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer program on July 12, 2014. Coach
Gnehm takes the reigns of the Sailfish following a two-year stint
on the staff of head coach Paul Hogan at Coastal Carolina
University in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
