No. 2 Rollins (15-0-0, 6-0-0) hosts Lynn (8-4-1, 5-1-0) in a key
SSC matchup on Wednesday on Senior day. Kickoff is set for 5
p.m.
Tuesday's meeting is the second between the two teams this
season as the Tars defeated the Fighting Knights, 2-0, in Boca on
10/1/13.
Rollins currently sits atop the SSC standings while Lynn is in
third, just three points behind the Tars.
ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: The Tars have won 23
straight regular season games dating back to last year, most
recently a 5-0 shutout of Eckerd on Saturday to improve to 6-0 in
the SSC. Rollins has not started the season with an unbeaten streak
of at least 15 games since 2009 when they opened the year
15-0-1.
The win marked the sixth time this year and fourth game in a row
that the Tars scored at least five goals. They are now averaging
3.89 goals per game, a figure that ranks best is all of Division
II.
Rollins leads the SSC in shots, points, goals, goals per game,
assists and assists per game are second in goals allowed and goals
against average.
Rollins has seven different players with at least three goals,
led by senior Rafa
Faria and sophomore Tucker
Hume who are tied for the team lead with 10.
Two-time All-SSC goalkeeper and reigning conference Defensive
Player of the Week Keneil
Baker has allowed less than a goal a game (0.89) with five
shutouts and 36 saves in 14 games. The senior is Rollins' all-time
leader in career shutouts with 27

Tuesday winners of four in a row, most recently a 3-0 shutout of
Florida Southern on Saturday.
Lynn lost nine starters from last year's National Championship
team but do have 10 players returning, including All-Americans Jack
Winter and Jason Sangha. Winter and Sangha were joined by 14
newcomers in 2013.
The Fighting Knights are currently second in the SSC in scoring
offense, averaging 2.31 goals per game led by Javier Lopez Mochon
who has a team best five goals and has added an assist. Yannick
Braeuer, Chris Hellman, Michael O'Neill, and Jake Furman have four
goals apiece.
Harris Smiler and Kevin Shields have split time in goal,
combining for a 1.06 goals against average with four shutouts and
19 saves.
THE COACHES: The winningest coach in Rollins
soccer history, Dr. Keith
Buckley is in his 23rd year at the helm of the Tars
program in 2013. His career record of 273-127-24 is the
33rd best in the history of NCAA Division II men's
soccer and ranks 13th among active coaches.
John Rootes was hired as head coach for the Lynn University
men's soccer team on March 31, 2008, becoming the fourth head coach
in program history. During his time with the Fighting Knights he
has posted a 74-21-5 (.765) record, earned four NCAA tournament
bids, including winning the 2012 NCAA Division II National
Championship, and won three Sunshine State Conference regular
season crowns and a SSC tournament title.
