WINTER PARK, Fla. (January 12, 2013) - Rollins
held off a late Palm Beach Atlantic charge Saturday as the
21st-ranked Tars won 55-50 in a nonconference
match-up.

Taylor set a new career high with 14 points to lead Rollins
(10-3). Ashley
Losch added 12 points off the bench while Ashley
Jones recorded 10 points and six rebounds.
Ashley Dolberry paced PBA (4-12) with a game-high 19 points and
12 rebounds. Kristie Mason netted 13 off the bench and Lynsey Poole
posted seven points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
The first half was played close with a Losch jumper knotting the
score at 17 with 2:42 to play. They then traded baskets as the
clock wound down with the Tars taking a 21-19 lead heading into the
locker room. The opening frame saw six ties and three lead changes
with neither leading by more than four.
Rollins took control to start the second and jumped ahead 35-25
after the first five minutes. A 7-1 run by the 'Fish closed the
Rollins lead to 36-32 with 11:08 to go.
Back-to-back jumpers by Taylor and Losch with 6:26 left put
Rollins back up by eight. PBA then got hot from outside and a
Taylor Peterson 3-poiner with 2:26 to play cut Rollins' advantage
to 49-48. Losch scored on the Tars' next possession but Dolberry
answered to make it 51-50 with 55 seconds left.
Rollins then iced the game by shooting 4-of-6 from the free
throw line and forcing two PBA turnovers in the final 35
seconds.
The Tars shot just 29 percent (19-64) from the field and were
14-of-23 from the free throw line. PBA was 41 percent (19-of-46)
and outrebounded Rollins 42-37. Rollins committed only eight
turnovers and forced 23 from the 'Fish.
