WINTER PAR, Fla. (February 26, 2012) - After winning eight straight contests at Alfond Stadium, the Rollins baseball team suffered its first home loss as they fell 6-4 to Saint Anselm Sunday afternoon.

Rollins falls to 8-4 on the season, while Saint Anselm improves to 3-2 overall.

The Tars were led by Anthony Figliolia as he was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. He registered three hits, one run, an RBI, a double, triple, and a walk. Kevin Mager, Brian Lattanzi and Greg Smith each had two hits off the Hawks.

Right-hander Adam Ogburn (1-1) was charged with the loss going 2.2 innings, giving up three runs on six hits and allowing one walk.

After Rollins took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second, Saint Anselm tied up the score in the top of the third. The Hawks then took a one-run lead in the fourth inning, but the Tars evened the score in the home half at three runs apiece. Greg Smith hit a solo home run over the leftfield fence wall to tie the score.

In the top of the fifth, the Hawks put up a pair of runs to take a 5-3 lead. Rollins answered back in the bottom half with a lone run to make the score 5-4. The Tars were unable to overcome the deficit giving up another run in the seventh as their bats went cold in the final four innings of play. Of the 11 total team hits, three were recorded in the final four innings.

Saint Anselm was led by Robert Kelly as he was 3-for-5 with five RBIs, one run scored, a double and a home run. Starter John Healy was awarded the win in over five innings of work, while Joe Latino earned the save.
