AT A GLANCE - In the Sunshine State Conference
driver's seat at the season's stretch run, ninth-ranked Rollins
hosts Lynn Wednesday in its next-to-last home game of 2012. The
first-place Tars have won four straight and come into the game with
an overall mark of 19-3 and 10-2 in SSC play. Barry is a game back
at 9-3 while Florida Southern is 9-4 and also in contention for the
regular season title. Rollins will be awaiting the first NCAA
Division II South Region rankings, to be released late Wednesday,
to see where they land in the first indicator for postseason
selection. The Tars last time out was an 86-50 thrashing of Saint
Leo, marking the sixth-straight game Rollins held its opponent to
less than 60 points. Glenn Wilkes Jr.'s defense is ranked seventh
in the nation, allowing 52.3 points a game, while the offense is
tied for second in the SSC with 67 points a night. During the
winning streak, Rollins has averaged just 11 turnovers a game to
rank 12th in the nation in the category and ninth in
turnover margin (+6.8). Rollins is 13-0 at home on the season and
is looking to post an unbeaten season in Warden Arena for the first
time since 2008-09...Lynn travels to Winter Park jockeying for
seeding in the upcoming SSC Tournament, standing fourth with a
records of 12-10 overall and 7-5 in the conference. The Fighting
Knights are 2-3 in their last five and are coming off a 64-59 win
over Florida Tech on Saturday. LU's offense is seventh in the SSC
with 57.5 points a game while the defense holds opponents to 58
points a night, ranking sixth. Lynn is 4-6 away from home on the
season, including a 3-3 mark in the SSC.
THE STARS - Ashley Jones leads Rollins on the season, averaging
11.7 points and 3.9 rebounds a game. Kourtine Berry adds 8.5 points
a game while Paris Moore tallies eight points, 4.2 rebounds and an
SSC-best 2.6 steals a game. Kristina Mingos leads on the glass, gathering 4.7
rebounds a game...Kira Harvey is sixth in the SSC and tops Lynn's
offense with 13.2 points per game. Marquis Lee adds 12 points a
night with Charla Nelson-James recording 9.6 points and nine
rebounds a game.
THE COACHES - Glenn Wilkes Jr. (Stetson '81) is in his 26th season
leading the Tars and has built Rollins into a SSC powerhouse and
national contender year in and year out. His career record of
573-184 is the 39th best mark among active coaches in all divisions
and the seventh most victories among Division II active
coaches...Niki Washington (SI-Carbondale '99) is in her second year
leading Lynn and holds a 24-25 record at the helm.
THE SERIES - Rollins leads the all-time series
over Lynn 26-4. Earlier in the year, the Tars snapped a two-game
losing streak to the Fighting Knights with a 74-58 win in Boca
Raton. Ashley Jones hit five 3-pointers en route to 22
points for Rollins wile Kira Harvey poured in 26 for Lynn.

Rollins will play its final home game of the regular season on
Saturday, Feb. 18 against Florida Tech. Tip-off is slated for 2
p.m. with senior day activities slated to begin at 1:55 p.m.
