WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 2, 2012) - The
Rollins men's and women's soccer teams are set to for the SSC
tournament semifinal Friday, with the men squaring off with second
seeded Tampa and the women taking on fifth seeded Eckerd.
Kickoff for the men is set for 11 a.m. in Boca Raton on the
campus of Lynn University with the Tars as the three seed. The
Rollins women will host the Tritons at 7 p.m. after earning the
right to host after winning the SSC regular season crown.
The men advanced to the semifinal after defeating sixth seed
Florida Tech, 2-1, in the quarterfinal match on Tuesday evening at
home. Down a goal well after the half, Rollins was able to rally
back behind a pair of goals by freshman Grant Blackhurst to advance
to the semifinal against Tampa.
As the one seed, the women earned a bye in the quarterfinal and
now will face Eckerd after the Tritons defeated the fourth seed,
Nova SE, in the quarterfinal round Tuesday. The Tars won both
meetings with Eckerd this season after coming into the year 9-9-0
all time vs. the Tritons.
