No. 10 Rollins at Palm Beach Atlantic Wednesday

AT A GLANCE - Looking for its 10th win in a row and the newest team in the national top-10, Rollins heads to Palm Beach Atlantic for the first game of 2012. The Tars fell to then top-ranked Clayton State to start the season and have since run off nine-straight wins to stand at 9-1. They swept through the Rollins Holiday Classic, downing Cedarville 68-57 and Holy Family 67-61. Kourtnie Berry and Ashley Jones were named to the All-Tournament team, leading the Tars in the two wins. Against Holy Family, Berry matched her career high with 19 points, 16 of which came in the second half. Jones and Tera McDaniel each added 10. Rollins allows just 54 points a game to rank 24th in the nation in scoring defense. Scoring 67 a game on the other end of the court, Rollins ranks 47th in the nation in scoring margin. The game will be just the Tars' second true road game of the season with the first a 58-56 win at Tampa in November...Palm Beach Atlantic was 4-2 by the end of November, but lost eight of the next nine and are now 5-10 on the season. The Sailfish are currently on a four-game skid. They fell to Valdosta 64-48 their last time out. Against the SSC, the 'Fish are 1-7, beating Tampa 56-38 on Nov. 16. PBA is averaging 57.5 points a game and surrendering 62 on the defensive end.

THE STARS - Kourtnie Berry is averaging 10 points a game to lead Rollins balanced offense. Ashley Jones is adding 9.9 points and a team beast 4.8 rebounds a game while Sarah Blackburn chips in 8.3 points a game...Jordan Kong paces the Sailfish with 13.1 points a night. Seiethia Jackson chips in 11.5 points and 8.0 rebounds a game.

THE COACHES - Glenn Wilkes Jr. (Stetson '81) is in his 26th season leading the team and continues to build the Tars into one of the premier programs in Division II. His career record of 561-183 is the 39th best mark among active coaches in all divisions...Clarisse Garcia (Villanova '07) is in her second season leading Palm Beach Atlantic and is 13-30 at the helm.

THE SERIES - Rollins is a perfect 11-0 all-time against Palm Beach Atlantic. The Tars won the last meeting 68-48 in Winter Park, on Jan. 12, 2011.

UP NEXT - Rollins will get back into Sunshine State Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 7, hosting Palm Beach Atlantic. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. from Warden Arena.
