VALDOSTA, Ga. (May 2, 2011) -
Rollins was swept in doubles play and couldn't recover in
singles as the No. 9 Tars fell to No. 8 West Florida 5-1 on
Monday.
Rollins' season ends with record of 17-9 while the Argos advance
to play either Valdosta State or Florida Southern in the second
round.
In doubles, Rollins 14th ranked duo of Jeff Morris
and Arturo
Baravalle dropped an 8-2 decision to 10th-ranked
Leandro Ferreira and Andrey Pozhidaev in the top spot. In the No. 2
match, Jason
Alabaster and Nick
Rowlands lost 8-4 to Domenico Sano and Sean Gunnels while Sebastian
Hafner and David
Yawalkar fell to Mike Lue and Jose Carolos Tolentin 9-7 in the
No. 3 match.
The Tars scored a point in the No. 3 match as Hafner downed
Gunnels 6-4, 6-4. The Argos, however, picked up wins at no. 2 and
No. 5 to close out the Tars.
