INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 13, 2011) - Ahead of
the 2011 NCAA Division II South Region Tournament, the
fourth-ranked Rollins softball team was featured on NCAA.com.

Postseason accolades began pouring in for Rollins, starting with
a clean sweep of the Sunshine State Conference honors. Senior
Christine Roser was named the Player of the Year, hitting a
conference second-best .431 while also sitting second with 48 RBIs.
She leads the SSC with a school record 18 doubles and is second
with nine taters. Junior transfer Hope
Bitzer earned the SSC's Pitcher of the Year honors, posting a
perfect 18-0 record and a NCAA best 0.42 ERA. Infielder Veronica
Alred was named the SSC Freshman of the Year and Michelle
Frew earned her second straight and third overall SSC Coach of
the Year honor.
The Tars own the best record in the nation at 45-2 and welcome
Tampa, Arkansas-Monticello and West Alabama to Lake Island Park for
the NCAA postseason's first trip to Winter Park.
Tampa and Arkansas-Monticello kick off the tournament at 4:30
p.m. on Friday, May 13. Rollins and West Alabama follow at 7 p.m.
Game times for the double-elimination affair are 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m.
and 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 with Sunday's championship game
slated for 1 p.m.
