LAKELAND, Fla. (May 12, 2011) - The Rollins
Tars suffered a 12-1 loss to the No. 30 Florida Southern Moccasins
at Henley Field. Rollins now drops to 27-24 overall and 6-16 in
the SSC, while Florida Southern improves to 30-15 and 14-8 in
conference play.
Catcher Sean Reilly scored Rollins' lone run in the top of the
second on a groundout to second. Reilly was 1-3 on the night with
a double and a run scored. Nick Adams was the only Tar to get
multiple hits with three.
Florida Southern scored their 12 runs on 12 hits, and committed
two errors. Colin Kaline, Mike Snyder, Tony Mitchell, and Zach
Maggard each got two hits off the Tars.
Rollins starting pitcher Will Krasne was charged with the loss
in 4 1/3 innings of work. FSC starter Gus Schlosser (7-1) nabbed
his seventh win of the season with seven complete innings on the
hill. He recorded eight strikeouts and gave up five hits.
The Tars will wrap up the 2011 season tomorrow afternoon at
Henley Field when Rollins faces the Mocs at 3 p.m. For live stats,
