FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (April 3, 2011) - After a
tough loss to a top-ranked team Saturday, ninth-ranked Rollins
bounced back with a 7-2 victory over 20th-ranked Nova
Southeastern Sunday.
Rollins is now 15-5 overall and 6-2 in the Sunshine State
Conference.
The Tars' top-two doubles tandems picked up victories to give
the visitors a 2-1 lead. Margaret Junker and Kayli Ragsdale blanked
Oksana Krutiyenko and Kamryn Blackwood 8-0 in the top spot. Lisa
Loft and Stefania Tkach teamed to win the No. 2 match 8-4 over
Justine Feaster and Austin Lavallii.
In singles play, 17th-ranked Junker scored a 6-3, 6-1
win over Dominique Wimmer. Loft downed Daria Burobina 6-2, 6-1 in
the No. 2 position while Mariana Salvador took Lavallii 6-3, 2-6,
6-0 at No. 4.
Ashley Rosenberg was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Blake Bauer in the
No. 5 match and Ragsdale downed Federia Longo 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 6
position.
Rollins will be back in action Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m. in a
home match against Palm Beach Atlantic.
