MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (April 16, 2011)- The
Rollins softball team collected another important conference
victory, Saturday evening, 5-2 over Barry. The Tars received a
strong pitching performance from Hope Bitzer and timely hitting to
hand the Bucs a home loss. With the win the Tars improve to 41-2
overall and 18-1 in conference play.
Rollins jumped on the scoreboard first, tallying two runs to
take the early lead. Barry would respond and scratch across a run
to cut the lead to one in the bottom half of the inning.

sixth to draw within one run.
Rollins retaliated with two runs in the seventh to stretch the
lead back to three and received a perfect bottom half of the
seventh from Bitzer and the defense to close out the game.
Krista Rodden and Monica Meadows provided the offense with both
collecting two RBIs apiece along with one RBI from Lawna
Hunter.
Bitzer remains undefeated and went seven innings, striking out
nine and allowing one earned run.
Rollins and Barry will matchup again, Saturday at 1 p.m. for the
