SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 9, 2011) - The
10th-ranked Rollins women's tennis team make easy work
of winless Western New Mexico, winning 9-0.
Rollins improves to 10-2 and has won five matches by shutout on
the season.
The 24th-ranked doubles team of Margaret
Junker and Kayli
Ragsdale defeated Doris Berberic and Nikolina Vukadin 8-1 in
the top match while Ashley
Rosenberg and Lisa
Loft took Emily Lampman and Nicki Duenas 8-1 at No. 2. Roshni
Luthra and Allie
Steele teamed to take Dena Irvin and Davida Aragon 8-1 in the
No.3 position.
Junker improved to 2-0 at the No. 1 singles position and 12-0
overall, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Berberic. Rosenberg
defeated Vukadin 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 2 position and Stefania
Tkach blanked Lampman 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3.
Mariana
Salvador stayed perfect on the year with a 6-0, 6-1 win over
Duenas in the No. 4 singles position. Bradleigh
Lore defeated Irvin 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 and Clarke
Tatje won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 over Aragon.
Rollins returns home on Wednesday, March 16 to face NAIA
powerhouse Auburn-Montgomery at 3:30 p.m.
