WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 25, 2011)- The Rollins
softball team kept their undefeated mark in conference alive in
front of a capacity crowd at Lake Island Park against the Lynn
Fighting Knights, taking the victory 10- 0 in five innings. With
the victory Rollins improves to 30-1overall and 7-0 in Sunshine
State Conference play.
Rollins jumped on the scoreboard first, scoring eight runs in
the second inning behind a three-run home run from Krista
Rodden and a solo shot from Hope
Bitzer. Christine
Roser added two RBIs of her own along with Hilary
Brown collecting her lone RBI. The Tars would end the inning
having scored eight runs behind nine hits, including two home
runs.
The Tars used the long ball again with Monica
Meadows collecting a solo shot to push the lead to nine. Roser
reached on a walk and was brought around by a Rodden single to cap
off the scoring.

Moreland and Lawna
Hunter also helped the offense tallying two RBIs of their own
and went a combined 2-for-6 at the plate.
Kirsten
Frame provided a strong pitching performance for the Tars,
collecting six strikeouts through five innings of work. The
Fighting Knight offense could only muster two hits against the
reigning Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week.
The Tars will wrap up the series with a doubleheader, Saturday
at Lake Island Park starting at 1 p.m.
