WINTER PARKS, Fla. (March 1, 2011) - Rollins
dropped just four total games in singles and rolled to a 9-0
victory over Lake Superior State on Tuesday.
The 10th-ranked Tars improve to 6-2 on the season
while the Lakers fall to 5-13.
The tone was set early as Rollins won each of the doubles
matches in dominating fashion. The 24th-ranked duo of
Margaret Junker and Kayli
Ragsdale defeated Adrienne DiVito and Helen Sheridan 8-0 in the
top flight match. In No. 2 doubles, Roshni
Luthra and Stefania
Tkach took Katie Watchom and Kaitlynn Hutchinson 8-1. The Tars
completed the sweep at No. 3 as Ashley
Rosenberg and Clarke
Tatje won 8-1 over Tess Marton and Erin Wiethoff.
Singles play was just as successful as 26th-ranked
Luthra took DiVito 6-1, 6-0 in the top match. Junker blanked Marton
at No. 2 and Tkach was also a shutout winner at No. 3. Rosenberg
won 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 4 match and Mariana
Salvador stayed perfect on the year with a 6-0, 6-1 win over
Wiethoff at No. 5. Kayli
Ragsdale was nearly perfect in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Hutchinson,
surrendering just one point in the second set.
Rollins will be back on the courts on Thursday, March 3 against
Brenau University.
