WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 7, 2010)- The
Rollins softball team completed a clean sweep of the coveted
Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week Awards. Collecting the
offensive honors was senior Jessica Moreland. On the week Moreland
batted an impressive .462 with three runs and 7 RBI as the Tars
went 3-1 in their season opening trip in Hawaii. Moreland helped
propel the Tars to a series sweep of BYU-Hawaii and a split against
No.3 Hawaii Pacific. Her biggest hit came against Hawaii Pacific,
belting a homerun to finish off the 7-3 victory.
Sophomore hurler Kirsten Frame started 2011 strong with a victory
over BYU-Hawaii and a hard fought loss against Hawaii Pacific. In
the 8-0 victory Frame tallied 11 strikeouts and allowed zero hits
to collect the win. In the game against Hawaii Pacific Frame only
allowed six hits, one walk in a tough 1-0 loss. She finished the
week with a 0.90 ERA.
