WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 12, 2011) - Amber Heistan drained a school record seven 3-pointers to lead 19th-ranked Rollins past Saint Leo, 73-50 on Saturday.

The win stops the Tars two-game losing streak and pushed their record to 20-5 overall and 8-5 in Sunshine State Conference play. Saint Leo drops to 9-15 and 1-12 in SSC play.

Heistan was 7-of-8 from 3-point range and recorded career highs with 21 points and five steals. Her seven triples broke the school mark of six that was set three times by Jessica Pressley and once each by Jennifer Gossett and Nicole Sullivan.

Kristina Mingos also had a big day for Rollins, netting 15 points and snaring seven rebounds.

Rollins shot 45 percent (25-55) from the field, including 16-of-31 from 3-point range. The defense held Saint Leo to just 39 percent (20-51) and no 3-pointers. The Tars also won on the glass, 34-33.

Heistan set the tone with a 3-pointer on Rollins' first possession as the Tars built a 30-10 lead over the first eight minutes. The Lions closed the gap to 15, 33-18, midway through the half. Rollins would go on to lead by as much as 21 in the period and went into intermission up 44-24.

Rollins continued its domination in the second half and led by a game-high 32 points, 68-36, with 5:41 to play.

Rollins is idle on Wednesday and will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 19 at Florida Southern in a rare weekend night game. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. from Lakeland. Fans can catch all the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com and locally on 91.5 FM, WPRK.
