WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 4, 2011) - The
Rollins women's soccer program held steady at No. 10 for the second
consecutive week in the latest NSCAA Division II poll, it was
announced Tuesday.
The Tars are coming off a pair of victories, including a road
showdown with conference foe Florida Tech this past Saturday.
Rollins is now in command, along with Saint Leo, for the top spot
in the conference with both teams undefeated in 2011. The Lions
check in at No. 6 in this weeks national poll and hold the top spot
in the regional rankings.
Rollins has yet to yield a goal to the opposition and senior
goalkeeper Michelle Dillingham was rewarded for her efforts by
being selected Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the
Week for her two shutouts.
Rollins has yet to allow a goal on the season and stands as the
only team in in Division II that is unscored upon. La Salle in
Division I is the only other school with the distinction of not
allowing a goal this season.
The top-10 remains mostly the same with Lenoir-Rhyne moving up
one spot to No. 7 and Saint Rose moving to No.8, while Fort Lewis
fell to No.9.
Rollins continues its march through their slate as they host
conference rival Lynn Tuesday night with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
