KANSAS CITY, Kan. (October 5, 2010) - Entering
into their fourth consecutive week ranked in the top-ten on the
NSCAA/Hendrickcars.com DII National Poll, the Rollins women's
soccer team come in at No. 6 on this week's poll. Dropping two
positions from their highest ranking in program history, the Tars
look to regain their top-five standing this week as they take on
two conference opponents.
Rollins, who has been ranked within the top 25 the entire
season, took on Nova Southeastern this past weekend. Despite a
strong Rollins squad that peppered the Sharks with 19 shots and 12
shots on frame, the Tars were only able to walk away with a 2-2
double overtime draw against their SSC opponent.
Freshman midfielder Brenna
McKee put the first tally on the scoreboard, and then went on
to assist on the equalizing goal later in the game to send the
contest into overtime play. The Austin, Texas native earned a new
career high in overall points in a game with her one goal, one
assist performance.
Rollins takes to the pitch on Tuesday, October 5, when they take
on the Eckerd College Tritons in St. Petersburg, Fla. at 5:00 p.m.
After that, the Tars make the trek down to Miami Shores for a
Saturday showdown against Barry University. Kickoff against the
Buccaneers is set for 7:00 p.m. Fans who cannot make it to either
one of the contests will be able to catch all of the action live on
the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
