WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 4, 2010)-
Freshmen goalkeeper Keneil
Baker tallies his first career shutout, victory and Sunshine
State Conference Defensive Player of the Week Award all within the
past week. Baker led the Tars to an upset win over then No.12
Flagler and helped secure another conference victory against Nova
Southeastern.
Baker received the starting nod from head coach Dr. Keith
Buckley against Flagler and did not disappoint, coming away
with a 1-0 shutout over a high powered offensive attack. Baker
faced eight shots from the potent Flagler offense and stymied all
attempts. He ended the night with three key saves to preserve the
victory.
Coming off his first career win between the posts for the Tars,
Baker again was called upon to face Nova Southeastern. After
allowing the first goal of the match, Baker quickly rebounded to
finish out the rest of the game without any more scoring from the
Sharks front line.
The next challenge for Baker and the Tars will be on Tuesday when
the Eckerd Tritons welcome Rollins to St. Petersburg at 7 p.m.
