BOCA RATON, Fla. (October 17, 2010) - Fifth-ranked Rollins rattled off 35 shots and had 17 corner kicks, but were not able to capitalize on any of their opportunities on goal as they were upset by Lynn University 1-0, in double overtime at the McCusker Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.

The Tars swallow their second defeat of the season, and drop to 9-2-1, 4-1-1 Sunshine State Conference, while the Fighting Knights advance to 5-5-2, 2-4-0 in conference play.

LU midfielder Kacie Huber scored her first career goal in the 107th minute, snapping a 23 game regular season SSC unbeaten streak for the Tars that dates back to the 2007 season. Huber grabbed a through ball from Melissa Ortiz for a chip shot over the hands of Rollins keeper Michelle Dillingham in the final overtime period to earn the golden goal.

Dillingham made five saves on the Fighting Knights' six shots on frame. Her adversary, Kelsey Butler, saw a total of eight shots on goal, turning away each one to hand the Tars their second shutout of the season.

Despite the final outcome, Rollins dictated the pace of the game from the onset. The Tars controlled the tempo, but just couldn't find the back of the net. Senior defender Leah Hirsch led the Tars with six shots and three on frame, while holding Lynn's leading scorers silent. Sophomore Annie Pippert was right on Hirsch's heels with five shots of her own, while seven additional Tars fired of two or more shots on the day.

Including post-season matchups, Rollins has been unbeaten against conference opponents for 26 straight contests since the start of their 2008 campaign, and the Tars have not lost to Lynn since 2006. The Tars will look to recollect themselves and brush off the loss as they look to close out their conference season against Florida Tech and Tampa over the ensuing two weeks.

The Tars return to the pitch on Wednesday, October 20, when they host Florida Tech at home. Kickoff against the Panthers is set for 7:00 p.m. at Barker Family Stadium and Cahall-Sandspur Field. Fans will be able to catch all of the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
