WINTER PARK, Fla. (September 30, 2009) -

Rollins, after another undefeated week, moved up one spot to No.14 in the latest NSCAA Division II National Poll. The Tars came away with a closely contested conference match against Saint Leo last Saturday evening, 3-2, in their only action of the week. Rollins will head to Florida Tech to take on the Panthers before hosting the Eckerd Tritons Saturday afternoon as they get into the heart of the Sunshine State Conference schedule.

The Tars look for momentum gained in the non-conference schedule to carry them through the tough upcoming conference season as the SSC holds three spots in the national poll. Lynn is the top ranked school in the nation and Tampa checks in at fourth. Both teams will travel to Winter Park to take on the Tars at Cahall-Sandspur Field as the season winds through the final month. Also, the Tars maintain their No.3 spot in the regional rankings behind Lynn and Tampa.

Rollins is in Melbourne Wednesday for a rare, weekday matinee against Florida Tech. The last time the two teams met was in Winter Park, where there Tars dominated the Panthers 4-0 on October 1 of last year. Nick Sowers scored the winning goal as he shot a rocket to the upper corner of the goal. Bradley Welch, Jacob Deloach and Stephen Wright also tallied goals in the game.

Rollins is one of six schools to have a men's and women's team in the national rankings with Metro State, Seattle Pacific, Midwestern State, Fort Lewis and Cal State Los Angeles also holding that distinction.
