WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 21, 2009)-
The Rollins College softball team escaped with a conference
victory against Florida Tech, Tuesday evening by a score of
1-0.
Nicole Anderson led the Tars, as she recorded 10 strikeouts through
seven strong innings. Anderson scattered three hits and walked one
en route to her 23rd win of the season. With the win she records
her fourth shutout in a row.
Offensively Jamie Rausch was the hero for the Tars, as she went
1-for-2 and the game winning RBI. The bottom of the sixth inning
saw Rollins post the first run. Kristina Holland started things for
the Tars, as she singled through the right side to get on base for
the winning run. After Christine Roser grounded out to the pitcher,
Holland moved to second. Jamie Rausch drove a single to right field
that allowed Holland to come around and score.
Anderson struck out the side in the top half of the seventh inning
to end the game.
With the win Rollins improves to 41-8 overall and 13-6 in SSC play.
Rollins hopes to improve their regional seed, as they season draws
to a close.
