POMONA, Calif. (March 8, 2009) – Rollins
made it two for two on their spring break trip to California as the
11th ranked Tars beat host Cal-Poly Pomona 7-2, Monday
afternoon.
The Tars improve to 10-0 on the year and will have one more
match, a date with UC San Diego on Tuesday, Mar. 10, before
returning to Florida.
The Tars swept doubles play to get rolling on the day. Margaret
Junker and Kayli
Ragsdale downed Jennifer Chow and Fallon Blattner 8-4 in the
top seeded match while Holly
Fleming and Roshni
Luthra downed Kaitlin Wooldridge and Jackie Trendt 8-5 in the
No. 2 match. The Tars sweep was complete as Allie
Steele and Stefaniya
Tkach took Michelle Stock and Kelly Wong 8-5 at No. 3.
Luthra was a winner in the top singles match, taking Trendt 7-5,
6-4. Fleming improved to 7-0 since moving to the No. 2 flight,
defeating Brady 6-0, 6-4. Margaret
Junker beat Blattner 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 and Ragsdale was a 6-3,
6-2 winner at No. 6.
