WINTER PARK, Fla. – The seventh-ranked
Ouachita Baptist defeated the Rollins College men's tennis team,
8-1, Wednesday afternoon.
The 14th-ranked Tars fall to 10-5 on the season, while the
Tigers remain perfect with a 14-0 mark.
The lone Rollins victory came in the No. 1 doubles slot as Adrian
Tan and Jeff
Morris teamed up for a thrilling 9-7 victory over the top pair
of Ouachita Baptist, Jan Plewinski and Till Heilshorn.
The Tigers answered in the second and third slots with an 8-5
and 8-4 win. Neil
Clausen and Gustavo
Carvalho dropped their second match of the season as they are
now 4-2 in doubles action.
Trailing 2-1, the Tars were unable to capture a victory in
singles play. Competitng in the fourth spot, Carvalho challenge
Szymon Judek to a three-set battle after capturing the first, 6-4,
but eventually dropped the match, 4-6, 6-4, 10-5.
Plewinski for the Tigers used straight-sets to defeat Tan at No.
1 slot, 6-4, 6-2. Clausen came up short in his quest falling to
Heilshorn, 6-1, 6-4 in the second spot to seal the win for Ouachita
Baptist.
Rollins returns to conference action when it travels to Barry,
Saturday, March 28 at 10 a.m.
