Rollins was down 2-1 after doubles and couldn't right the ship in
singles play, falling to Embry-Riddle 6-3 Tuesday afternoon.
The NCAA Division II 10th ranked Tars fall to 3-2 overall while
the NAIA third ranked Eagles improve to 4-1.
Adrian
Tan and Jeff
Morris downed Jan Hoekzema and Carlos Bes Cameras 4-1, retired,
in the No. 1 seeded match for the Tars lone doubles point. Nick
Rowlands and Gustavo
Carvalho fell to Adrian Bayh and Charlie Rice 8-5 in the No. 2
match while Bill
Rockwood and Jonathon
Emmet were bested by Peter Francis and Istvan Bolgar 8-6 at No.
3.
Johnson was topped by Zander Woodford Smit 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6
singles and Francis downed Rowlands 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 to put the
Tars down 4-1. Morris was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Bayh at No. 2 for
Rollins, but Rice scored a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Rockwood at No. 4
to clinch the win for the Eagles.
Bolgar won the No. 5 match 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 over Carvalho while
Tan beat Bes Cmeras 7-5, 1-6, 10-6 at No. 1 for the Tars.
Rollins will open up an eight-match home stand on Thursday, Feb.
26 at 3 p.m.
