WINTER PARK, Fla. –

The 18th-ranked Rollins women's basketball team held the Lynn Fighting Knights to 20.4 percent shooting from the field to capture a 47-37 victory, Wednesday evening in the conference home finale.

The Tars limited the Knights to 11 made baskets and 3-of-16 (18.8) from 3-point range to improve its record to 21-3 and 11-3 in the Sunshine State Conference. Lynn falls to 15-9 and 6-7 in conference action.

Rollins was led by Jessica Pressley and Ines Teuma's nine points as neither team had a scorer reach double-digits. Jade Williams tied the game-high with nine points for Lynn.

Rollins shot 31.3 percent from the floor and was held to 21.1 percent from beyond the arc in the defensive melee.

Despite being out-rebounded, 43-39, the Tars managed to score 15 second chance points, while allowing the Knights to score four points. Rollins also received 17 points from its bench players, led by Erin Kirkwood's seven points to match Lynn's bench production of seven.

Rollins held serve as the Tars went into intermission with a 27-21 advantage. With the game tied at seven, Rollins broke away with a 9-1 run, culminated by a Kourtnie Berry 3-pointer and a Brittainy Daiger lay-in with 10:37 remaining in the period.

The Knights cut the deficit to one at 22-21 with just over a minute to play on a Crystal Ahmed jumper from a Natalie Basore assist. Rollins closed out the half on a 5-0 run as Ines Tuema capped off the late run with a bucket with 17 seconds.

In the second half, the Tars allowed 16 points as the Knights scored four baskets, which included one 3-pointer. To open the second half, Rollins held Lynn to one point in the first nine minutes of the half to build a 13 point lead at the 10:53 mark. The Knights could only get within nine points the rest of the way as the Tars eventually built a 14 point lead on a Pressley trey with over two minutes left before securing the 10 point win.

Rollins improves to 19-0 when leading at the mid-way point and continues to remain unbeaten at home with a record of 16-0.

The 20.4 percent shooting from the field for Lynn was the lowest an opponent has shot against the Tars since Barry shot 19.3 percent during the 2007-08 season.

Rollins returns to the hardwood, Saturday, Feb. 21 when it travels to Barry for a conference showdown with tip-off slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
