Rollins Leads Nittany Lion Invite After Round One

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (October 3, 2009) -

Rollins shot a opening round 300 to open up a three shot lead after the first round of the Nittany Lion Invitational Saturday.

Yale University sits second after shooting 303 while host Penn State is third with 305 strokes.

Daniela Vargas shot a one under 71 and is tied for first place with PSU's Emily Ransome. The round is her best as a Tar with her career best being a 68 while at Shorter. Joanna Coe turned in a two over 74 and is tied for 10th while Elin Marcsdottir is tied for 18th after an opening round 77. Amanda Henry is a shot a 78 and sits tied for 25th and Brianna Seo carded a 79 and is tied for 30th.

The Tars will go for their second victory in as many tournaments with a final round on Sunday.
